Open amount and validity
You set the amount card by card or batch by batch, and the expiry date that applies. Any unspent balance stays visible until the last day.
Give an amount, not an object. A card is created one at a time or in batches of several hundred, sent to the beneficiary, and spent at the merchants you authorised — until the date you set.

A beneficiary file, an amount, a reason: the batch goes out in one operation and hands you back the detail of every card created.
You decide which merchant categories the card works in. A transaction outside that scope is declined at the till, not corrected afterwards.
Each card carries its balance, visible to the beneficiary and to you. A partial spend leaves the rest available: no booklet to tear up, no rounding lost at the till.
